Giants Want To Take 'Best Football Player' At No. 3
New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said he will not force the team to select at quarterback with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The Giants have signed both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason, but it doesn't preclude them from still selecting a quarterback at the top of the draft.
The Giants could, however, opt to pick either Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter if they were available at No. 3.
"We're in a position where we can take who we think is the best football player at that time," Schoen said at the NFL's annual league meeting.
Schoen later added: "If it matches up, if the value is right, we can look at many positions and take a guy."
Cam Ward is expected to be the top pick in the trade to the Tennessee Titans at No. 1. Shedeur Sanders is also the other consensus top quarterback under consideration.
But the Giants have also been doing a lot of work on Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart in recent weeks, a source told ESPN.
